I
have boxes full of left over #20 size Anchor crochet cotton
threads from earlier projects. My mother and I leave our
thread/fabric scraps in the same place so it was easier to sort them out.
With
no plan in my mind I began crocheting small squares...
I joined some of the squares with black thread.
Initially I thought black
might over power the other colours but now I kind of like it..
But
I am still not sure whether to go with black or change it.Please feel free to leave your thoughts..
The square pattern is nice :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm in general very lousy in color combinations. I make mistakes and live with it. :-)
the black works well as it gos with all colours, liking the blocks are multi coloured too
ReplyDeleteIt rather depends on what you're going to do with it when it's done, and what else it has to go with!
ReplyDeleteOh BLACK!! Colorful blocks on black are stunning. I've done this so many times with rave reviews.
ReplyDeleteWere I doing this, I would crochet a black border around all the blocks while joining them. Like framing each little masterpiece. Kind of traditional, too.
ReplyDeleteI like what you have stitched together - the black really highlights colours.
ReplyDeleteI don't crochet but with quilt blocks, tend to make lots and then play with positioning them.
Can hardly wait to see more squares.
@ Julie - Thanks for your input.I have done the framing idea before in afghans..so wanted to try this technique after I saw a baby hexies afghan in a crochet magazine and then work a border in black throughout..Hope black works for the border too..
ReplyDeleteKeep the black, it looks good
