bernina 'n' sewing
My city was flooded a couple of weeks
back which was really really good because the ground water level has
raised but the roads are in a terrible condition and driving is a
nightmare.
I've managed
to do some embroidery and sewing .
I taught a friend to do line quilting
and how to use a walking foot on my old bernette machine which I'm
using for classes now since I have bought a bernina. I'm
still learning how to use the bernina 380..tried a couple of things
like FHS last week but am not comfortable yet.
Another friend of mine wants a quilt
made of traditional patchwork blocks using scraps.I'm sure it'll be a
WIP project for a long time.
I had cut some 3'',4'' and 5'' squares
from the scrap fabric and finished few blocks..
To get used to a new sewing machine
takes time and until then there will be some sloppy work I guess..I'd
missed the precision sewing at some corners which looks very bad so I'll
have to frog and re-do :-(
Do you use a bernina 3 series ? Please
do share with me if you have any tips.
Happy sewing!

fun sewing…
A new shisha embroidery pattern 'Desi pouch' is available for download in my etsy shop now.
Last week I spent most of my time
sewing clothes.I had bought yards and yards of fabric last year and
without turning them into clothes I can't buy more fabric :). If I
add more stash then I'm sure I'll end up living in the balcony
because there is very little moving space around :)
I had fun sewing some
pouches, needle, brushes and pencil rolls. Now these are on the way to a new home….
Happy stitching!

more fun this week…sewing,sketching,embroidery..
I had managed to work a little bit on
some of the projects, not much progress but even a little progress
is better than nothing,right?
I had to sew a dozen of these small bibs for
the dolls.I couldn't complete the embroidery part when my nieces were
here so I worked on that earlier this week and mailed it to them..
Apart from these I did some
sketching, some experiments with inktense blocks worked but a few
turned out to be a total disaster..
Happy stitching!

a fun week - sewing…crocheting…
If you have thousands of nieces like
me... ( just kidding :) but I do have a huge bunch of them ) then
you'll understand my situation for sure.
I spent most of my week sewing dresses
for dolls, crocheting tiny purses and flowers for themselves and their
dolls…
The square pattern is from crochet
today magazine.
More squares..to be made into a purse
later.
Despite all the work I just love the
kids a lot and we had a great time.I would like to share an
interesting and funny conversation I had with my neighbor's
daughter..
I had invited my new neighbor's kids
for a fun art session with the girls. We were drawing and coloring a
house,garden and a family.
Me: Do you have any brothers or
sisters?
Smart 4 year old kid : Yes,I do have a
brother.
Me: Shall we draw him? How old is he?
Smart kid: He is zero years old.
Me: what ????
Smart kid: I'm learning numbers at
school.I know zero comes before one.My brother has not yet celebrated
his first b'day and that's why I'm saying he is zero years old.
Me : !!!!! :(
Before I sign off..let me show the
sunrise from my balcony…
Happy stitching! Have a great and fun
week end!
Anita.
