Time just flies

Hi
I can’t believe that it’s blog anniversary today.THANK y’all for the support, without you I wouldn't have come this far. I’m happy that I've made some good friends thro’ this blog.
I’d like to show a WIP today, it’s a cutwork doily. I've finished almost all the small details, got to complete the flowers, outer border and then finally the cutting part.

A reader had asked me why I’m trying to do many forms of embroidery, painting … instead of sticking to only Indian embroidery, how do I manage to do all this etc
Actually this blog is about needle art and painting so I don’t post pictures or write about my other interests. I also sew clothes, bake, learn to read write and speak different languages  J .I’m single, no plans to get married in autumn/winter/summer/fall and I don’t do parties…So I guess either I like to try to do many things or it’s a way  to kill my time, what do you think ? When my friend called me yesterday she said our personality has changed over the years and she was trying to figure out why. We were bubbly, happy in our 20’s, now in 30’s we are crappy, twisty and we can’t believe how on earth we ended up with messed up people who are either single or going through divorce. It has affected us so much. It was easy to pick a side when we were not friends with the guy, but it was really difficult for me especially when I’m close to both of them, to watch the children go through all the drama is really affecting me and when I chose not to pick one I ended up hurting both of them, lost both my friendsL
Uff!!! I really feel much better after writing this because I can’t call my friend since we’ve made a deal to talk with each other only when we are happy. Anyways thanks for reading …..

Happy stitching!
Anita

Your cutwork doily looks really nice. I've never done anything like this, but like you I like to try all sorts of new types of stitchery.

It is hard to choose sides when friends divorce. They should accept that you can't and not make you the person in the wrong! They are wrong to put you in the middle. It is always best to surround yourself with positive people.

Happy blog anniversary!

You are sure to get back your friends. Give time for the wounds to heal and when they come back have a blast:). People who pursue a hobby are indeed blessed.

By the way Congratulations on the first anniversary of artisticfingers. Its a refreshing space to visit and Thank You for sharing so many creative works.

Many Many Happy Returns:)

Its true, when couples split, its not just them thats affected.
I stitch as a form of therapy I reckon lol It might have once been cheaper than a Shrink........but now thats not true..........my stash and craft books have cost me quite alot lol

oh hugs to you! Live definitely gets a lot harder the older we get, and then I believe that it gets easier when we grow weary of other's feelings and focus more on our own selves again.
Chin up my friend, you're doing great!

Anita a lovely doily, I do not envy you cutting it, take a deep breath and go carefully.
Glad you do so many techniques so enjoyable for us all to see your creativity.
Congratulations on your anniversary.Life changes as we grow older, I have been divorced twice but now at 65 would run a mile from another husband, feel content with myself although very lonely at times but that is for female friendships, have been in Leeds over 5 years but so far no friendships made, there is still time and have my stitching to fill in the hours.

Congrats on the anniversary! Your doily is beautiful. yep, life gets tougher the older we get.

I like to try lots of different crafts and techniques too, I don't see any problem with that. Why should we pick one and stick to it?

Happy anniversary!Like you, I was hesitant to get married but my parents' happiness mattered the most.I married in my early 30's and had to walk out of it because I had no choice. The best thing that came out of it is that I have a son which I adore and love so much.Getting married or staying single is your choice as long as your happy - that's what matters the most.By the way, your cutwork is great.I'm planning to do one soon.

You have to follow your own heart. If you are open, you will be ready and know when you meet the right person. Don't marry for your Mom or anyone else but yourself. There is still life to be lived and pursuing what interests you (not for others likes or dislikes) is the best way to live.

I'm not single, but I have many of the same interests and since my son is now grown I am getting back to those that were on the back burner when he was the center of my attention. I want to learn and enjoy as much as I can, not become an expert in one thing--so I'm with you on that point, for sure!

The cutwork stitching looks great!
