Painting again

Hi!
I've started to paint again after a gap and I feel really good.

Sorry, I can’t show you the whole painting because it’s for a gift. I tried to paint a row of trees with some light, shadow in this and am pleased with the result, so I thought I should share this with y’all. Feel free to leave your comments. I’d appreciate all your suggestions and it helps me to grow as an artist.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!
Anita

I am sure your painting will be very beautiful, unfortunately cannot give you any tips or advice as I hardly know how to even hold a paintbrush!!

It feels good to hold that brush again, doesn't it? I really like the warm tones in this peek at your painting.
I see some light reflecting on the trunks, too, and I also like the trunk shadows. The lighter tones on the foreground around the trunks gives the impression of bright sunlight, gradually losing its brightness as it moves further away from the trees. Nicely done.
It seems that the shadows are formed on browny grasses, but it's hard to tell for sure. That's my impression, anyway.
The one thing I'm not registering is some cool tones to contrast with the warms: they may well be there, especially in the trunks, but it's difficult to tell for sure with just a wee peek and from a photo.
This has a very nice feeling about it, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the painting.

A gift from the heart, I love that. You make me want to paint again. There just isn't enough time to do it all :-(

From what I see in your photo you are doing great without any suggestions. As long as you keep your light source consistent you should be fine. Looking forward to seeing the entire image.
