Hardanger embroidery

Hi!

I've received few mails suggesting stitch-alongs.I honestly don't know how many of you will be interested to participate in an INDIAN EMBROIDERY SAL.If there are interested stitchers out there then I'd like to organize one.Let me know if you are interested.

I've finished the embroidery part in a new project - a small bag /pouch last week.
I've used a variegated stranded cotton thread.

I didn't control the color placement in this project,on purpose. What do you all do - Do you always control the color placement or work the thread just as it comes off the skein ?

Happy stitching!

Anita.

Have you worked this with stranded cotton? It looks like it, but I can't be sure.

I've done a lot of this kind of hardanger too in the past and you're right - you can't really control the colour variations. That's one of the things that makes it so nice though, don't you think?

Elizabeth,Thanks for your visit. Yes,I've worked this with Anchor stranded cotton.I like this effect created by multi colour variegated thread. Some times when using a shaded thread I try to control the colour placement to get a different effect.
